This was the first time EVER that I’ve run nearly 7 miles and felt great the whole time!!! I was running rolling hills and tried to run each hill faster than the last. I had no knee pain, no gut pain, nothing!! It was awesome!! I think I increased my mileage last week too fast. I know I’m not going to win this 1/2 marathon, so why kill myself (and my knee) trying??

Haven’t run on on the treadmill since last spring, was really boring. I am looking forward to my run outside tomorrow and hoping that it will at least warm up to the low 50’s. I am a wimp in the cold. Went and bought some Under Armor cold gear tights to help keep me warm for tomorrow.

I am not ready for cold morning runs yet! This morning it was 37 degrees with a light mist and a wind around 10 mph. I finally warmed up around mile 6. Was doing great until mile 10 when I shooting pains thru my left knee. I’m attributing this to fatigue? I did have some new shoes so that could be part of it. I don’t feel as fatigued as in previous long runs. My half marathon is in 3 weeks!

After mostly running on hilly trails, I decided to see if my time improved running on pavement and…..it did!! Yeah! I guess it’s all worth it. Off to the gym to lift…

Went for a long run, part on a gravel road and part on a trail. Little did I know that these trails were full of deep sand-talk about difficult to run in, especially up hills!! But overall, I know it’s good for me to run hills, the sand just added another level of difficulty. Happy Weekend!

Decided to run on a different part of the greenbelt than usual. When I put my Garmin on, the battery was dead, so went to put my watch on and realized that I forgot it. I could have taken my phone I guess, but I don’t have anywhere to put it other than my hand. So I went running without anything except my shuffle. Clocked the time from the clock in my car and measured the distance (accuracy??) from the mileage marked on the greenbelt. I was happy I was a least under 10 minutes miles, but wonder how accurate it is?

Went trail running again today with a bunch of my soccer team mates. We are trying to get ready for our upcoming season and somehow decided that running would be good for us. My ankles finally recovered from last week’s run in the hills! I’m convinced that trail running is twice as difficult as running on the pavement! I swear I can run 6-7 miles easily now on the greenbelt, but put me on a dirt trail with hills and I croak. Anyway, was a good workout.

Went for a run this morning with some of my soccer buds. We went up into the Foothills and did lots of hills! AFter 3 miles of hills, I felt I had run 10 miles, guess I’m not used to running hills. Need to do this more often as the Half-Marathon I’m doing has a lot of rolling hills. Feel very tired!
