Went camping and went for a ride. Stayed mostly on the road as I have a hybrid and the tires are fairly skinny. Was having a great time until my nephew drove up on his motorcycle and told me he saw a bear on the ridge above me!!! Never did see the bear, so don’t know if he was feeding me S*@& or not!

Wow! This bike machine was lots of fun, the time went by so quickly. It’s a virtual reality cycle race. You can shift and steer and there are lots of options to choose from racetrack, trail, park, etc.

My husband and I got up early to go on a long bike ride, we were hoping to about 20 miles, but it was cut short at mile 7 by my SECOND flat tire in a weekend!!
I rode my bike the day before and got a flat, so I thought I would be really smart and pay a little extra for a Slime tube to help prevent flats. But….what happens with a slime tube is: it doesn’t seal the leak, then when you go to patch it, the slime prevents the patch from sealing and on top of that, it clogs the stem so that you can’t get any air into the tube. Lesson learned: NEVER use Slime tubes!!

For those of you who don’t know what goatheads are, they are a desert plant that drop seeds that look like a goat head and puncture your tire in seconds. I am going to buy a Kevlar tire liner to help prevent future flats.

Guess I can’t expect to go fast while riding with the kids! It was so warm today (81 degrees) that we just couldn’t pass up a ride. My two older kids can pedal themselves and my youngest moved up from the bike trailer to a buddy bike. We only went 11 miles, but I guess that is better than nothing!
